Hi,

I am an American living in Paris and I think that my French is ok but really, I am never sure. Since there seem to be some kind native speakers who read this board I would appreciate it if you could read the following email text and let me know what you think. I spell checked it, I reread it and still I am unsure.

I wrote it after a rather annoying visit to the Social Security office (and they did say on their website that you could send comments).

Here is the text.

Bonjour,

Bien cordialement,

I would like to know how a real French person would have written such an email but the subject is so strange I am embarrassed to ask my workmates.

Thanks for any feedback

ur french is amazing for an american. one little word is disturbing tho, and that's the "des" in "l'absence des toilettes". it sould be said "l'absences de toilettes" im not sure why, but thats the way it is Confused lol. saying "des toilettes" either means that u know which bathroom ur talking about and it's been removed, or that there only exists one single bathroom in paris, and it follows u wherever u go. lol.

c ya!

There are a lot of very slight and not so much significant differences when you play with the words; you can stress this or that, as in every languages I suppose Confused
