Without further information about your...
1. native language(s),
2. languages you already know,
3. motivation to learn it,
4. amount of time you can invest,
5. learn type,
...

no one will be able to answer your question.

Dari is only very distantly related to French, so that won't help you much, the other languages besides English also can't help you. The fact that you already speak so many languages shows that your brain is open to learn new ways of expressing your thoughts. That's why it won't be that hard for you to get acquainted with another language. :)

English is said to be the most romanized language whereas French is said to be the most germanized language - so this will help but be aware that there are some false friends, that means that some words look (nearly) alike but have a different meaning.

If you study regularly and don't get bored too soon, then you will quickly progress. :)

I can't give you any fixed dates but once you have learnt the basic grammar and acquired some vocabulary, I'm sure you can soon write simple stories.

The best way to practice might be keeping a kind of diary here, then the natives or other advanced speakers can correct you and give hints.

Oh, and make use of flashcards. Have always some of them with you, so that you don't waste time, e.g. when travelling.

It really depends on the person but personally I found that if you already know English learning French is not very difficult. Well, the best way to learn a language is to practise, practise, practise.

Good luck in learning French Smile

Here is a website:( English to French)
http://humanities.uchicago.edu/orgs/ARTFL/forms_unrest/FR-ENG.html

( French to English)
http://www.frenchlinguistics.com/dictionary/

But they are limited resources.
Hope they can help you.
