Allo...

Although I've just read the request, I would like to point out that it is grammatically incorrect in its current state.

The correct way to write it in English would be:

May I help you?
Yes, you may.
Thank you.

Can = are you able to help me
May = will you help me

Whenever one is making an offer, it's proper to use "may."

It's sort of like the old mishmash between using "lay" and "lie."

You lay something down but you lie down on a bed.

Do I sound like somebody's mother right now? Just trying to be helpful. Confused

my grandmother, actually, but you are right.

Just don't start on "more unique". lol. Wink

jumperpony...

It took this old broad a moment or two but she finally got it... Laughing

It's kind of like using "inflammable," n'est-ce pas!

But the one that really gets moi is when someone (American) says, "I" when he or she really means "me." Example, "Please give them to my sister and I." Obviously, it's incorrect to give something to "I." One gives it to "me."

EEK!

Even our semi-esteemed prez, Geo W says it de temps a temps.

My high school English & French teacher, Mrs. Winkelmann, would be so proud to realize how much her efforts have born fruit with me.

The person is trying to sound so smart and just manages to display ignorance instead.
