I am going to be studying abroad for the next 10 months in France. I am can speak French about as well as my dog can, but I am pretty decent for a 2nd year student in writing. I have asked my host family to give me some words in French that I can practice and use in the future in front of other kids but they have been unable to understand what I mean, or I have been unable to give them the chance to understand it.

Please tell me some words that the kids use, so I can practice them.

Some examples of english words:

Cool, sweet, tight, phat, narly, awesome, dude, man, dog, etc

Hi
This is not really "slang" words, but I'll try to answer.

Cool is also used in french Smile ex : it's cool = c'est cool
sweet : sympa if you talk about someone (=nice)
awesome : impressionnant , génial , super
man : homme, gars (a little slang), mec (same), quidam (never used, very polite)
dog : chien
Dude : dandy (I'm not very sure)
Don't know for the others.

Just ask more all you want.

Knowing kids, they'll probably use the English words!
