I have good news and I have bad news.

The good news is that you are now part of the eleet (Those who like French Wink)

The bad news is... well, you might feel alone sometimes
Cool

Well, firstly I would like to start with the question of: Are you American?

If you are, then I know what you mean because most of my friends (who are American obviously) always insult the French for no reason. They are given biased opinions by our media and by their parents, who also do not know what they are talking about. They think everything French is bad. Just ignore the subject.

I loved it when people started changing things from French to Freedom.

Yes but if french= freedom that so cool Very Happy

I think the amercian population is handled in a way or another by G.W Bush but it's not their fault.All the republics do that (+ or - discreetly).

I think they cannot judge of the others population in "africa", "asia" "europe"... because they don't live in this continent.They don't speak with the population so they just must criticize that they see at the TV.Me I don't hate americans peoples.

(sorry for my english Confused )

hmmmm...well in Canada most of us (mostly students) think of French as a terrible burden the government had placed on us due to the fact that it is one of our official languages. I used to think about this the same way untill I understood the importance of learning about others, it allows one to have a wider prespective of the world and be more knowledgable of others. Smile

Here, also in Canada, I know that people take French because they want to get good jobs so that they can buy lots of STUFF. I know I'm taking French because, well, if you live in Quebec and don't understand a word of French, you kinda look like a dum-dum.

What I don't understand is why, in the rest of Canada, they teach people Parisian French (not that there's anything wrong with it). It just creates a language barrier. For example, in Ontario, someone told me that "déjeuner" meant lunch. I just stared kind of stared at them for like a minute. It doesn't make any sense.

Oh, and eleet is "elite" meaning the cream of the crop (the best of the best).

Here's the way I learned it:

déjeuner = breakfast
diner = lunch
souper = dinner

I guess it's just like the differences between British, Canadian and American English.

In France:
Petit déjeuner = breakfast
Déjeuner = lunch
Diner = dinner
