Hi,

One of my goals in life is to create my own little world with countries, different ethnies and all(like a role-playing-game). I also like creating languages for them, making up their history, all that stuff. You might think I'm completely crazy. This is not true, I'm just a little introverted...and it helps me learn linguistics!

Anyway, if you didn't run away, I've started a language for one of those little people, and I'm up to deciding on a custom alphabet. I've worked a Romanization, though, which is cool because I could use it on the web. Well, since my language borrows some of its sound inventory from French, and as it's the most active board, I decided to show it here to collect feedback on my consonant/vowel system and also my alphabet. Is it too complicated? Just simple enough? Looks too much like <insert language here>?

A thing that isn't in the txt : it's phonemic. One grapheme only corresponds to one sound, although I must use a lot of diacritics since the effect I want on the language requires a lot of consonants. The downside is that the alphabet is just HUGE : there's like 5 Os, 4 Es and lots of diacritics. But you'll see, it's not that bad.

By the way, don't search for a wordlist in the txt : there's none. Only one word has been created, and it's "la'inèn", which means to break(it's the name of the apostrophe, you'll see why).

Oh, and if you want, you can steal my txt consonant/vowel tables if you want to make your own language. I don't mind. Replace my phonemes by yours and there you go.

If you don't know about IPA or lingustics, go take a look at those(as I've only done these, no grammar points yet) :

WARNING : contains IPA, don't touch if you're allergic to weird symbols.

If you want me to update, I will. Now, I must go sleep, since tomorrow I'll have to doodle a world map for my guys : )
